7pm:Sushma Swaraj is expected to deliver her speech in Hindi as she did a year ago.

Swaraj, who is now in NY to attend the annual UN General Assembly Session, held a series of multilateral meetings, including with leaders of BRICS, IBSA, SAARC and India-CELAC. We have marched ahead, consistently, without pause, in Education, Health and across the range of human welfare. Responding to questions during weekly news briefing on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria termed highly regrettable the mentioning of Pakistan as a country sheltering terrorists in the joint statement issued at the conclusion of Japanese Prime Minister's visit to India.

Talking about her government's initiative to make youth economically independent, Swaraj highlighted Modi's ambitious plans of Skill India, Startup India and Stand Up India to train middle-class youth into becoming independent, self-employed entrepreneurs. Ms Swaraj also asked Pakistani leaders to introspect, reminding them that though both countries became independent at the same time, India is globally known as an IT superpower, and Pakistan, "as the pre-eminent export factory for terror". We are totally engaged in battling poverty but our neighbour Pakistan seems only engaged in fighting us.

Raising grave concern over the burgeoning terrorism across the globe, India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Saturday called on the global community to reach an agreement on the Comprehensive Convention on worldwide Terrorism (CCIT) to root out the menace from the globe. Swaraj, who is representing India at United Nations, has a session with a packed schedule of super diplomacy among an array of world leaders.
