Chris Van Vliet is entertainment news royalty. Thanks to the miracle of cutting edge technology - and the bottomless Deco travel budget - Chris has this report from across the pond.

According to a review by Vanity Fair, Taron Egerton, who plays as Eggsy, may be considered as the saving grace of the film. I always say about filmmaking it's like eating sausages, it's best not to really know how we do it, I think it ruins the magic. Casks from 1991 were selected to mark the year Kingsman agent Gary "Eggsy" Unwin was born-fake born, that is; it's only a movie. Still, this fleet-footed, glibly imaginative global romp stays on its toes and keeps its wits about it most of the time, with entertaining and pointedly US -friendly cast additions that should provide an uptick from the $414 million raked in worldwide by Kingsman: "The Secret Service". If the first Kingsman left you going "Wow!" this one leaves you saying "Hmm...cool".

The first movie made a surprisingly decent amount of money, and as anyone in Hollywood will tell you, money maketh more movies.

"I think my most memorable day on set was when I came in for rehearsal and Colin (Firth) was working with Elton and Elton was wearing a chicken suit", she said. Together, they'll battle the Golden Circle, an evil empire lead by Poppy, a sinister villain with a bad case of nostalgia, played by Julianne Moore.

Oil Jumps After US Gasoline Stockpiles Plunge to 22-Month Low
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at $50.01 per barrel, up 10 cents, or 0.2 percent, from their last settlement. Furthermore, higher demand for oil in 2018 has been anticipated by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.

Kevin Hart Extortion Case Search Warrants are Being Written
In a recent Instagram post by Hart, he posted a picture of his branded tee-shirt with the Inscription, "Shut up and Run". The actor said someone had targeted him for "financial gain" and that he'd rather "fess up" to his mistakes than pay.

Adidas Tops Jordan as US Second Most Popular Footwear Brand
Not to mention the National Basketball Association players they already had under contract in Derrick Rose and Damian Lillard. The German athletic sportswear company has passed the Jordan brand to become the No. 2 brand in sneakers in the U.S.

And don't get me started about how criminally underused Tatum is in the movie. Should this stuff stay in the vault, or do we really need a 3 hour and 40 minute cut of a Kingsman movie? It feels like a Roger Moore era Bond film but with a lot more blood. And you'll definitely want to see more from a few.

The first Kingsman movie, The Secret Service, was well received by audiences and critics (74% at Rotten Tomatoes).

However, there's still much to enjoy: the welcome but weird reappearance of Eggsy's mentor Harry Hart (Colin Firth); storming fight scenes including an amusing nod to the original movie's "manners maketh man" bar brawl, only with American rednecks; pithy culture-clash repartee (the transatlantic difference over spelling of "whiskey"); and the bonkers climax in Poppy's jungle lair, a garish nod to 50s Americana with diners, bowling alleys and salons, only with killer robot dogs. The film feels like a bridge between the first film and a potential future filled with spin-offs and further adventures with some of the under-used cast members - namely Channing Tatum's massively under-exploited Tequila, a character who we wanted to see more of.

With their fellow spies dead, Eggsy teams up with Merlin (Mark Strong), the Kingsman's Q, and heads to Kentucky to enlist the help of the Statesman, Kingsman's American counterpart.
