Granted, the actor has since gone on record to seemingly set the record straight, writing that, "Disney will announce when they are ready", followed by the hashtag '#WaitForVIIITrailer'.

Five months. That's how long it's been since we last saw a trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. We expect it'll be released online as soon as it airs. But everyone is waiting for more footage to thumb through to try and uncover much of the mystery around the film's plot.

Arriving Dec. 15, director Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.

In addition, it is keen on introducing limitations on team budgets to make the sport more competitive and attract new viewers. It is also because the Republic is keen to see where the sport will go after the expiry of a Concorde Agreement in 2020.

Mark Hamill, who of course plays Luke Skywalker, was asked about the trailer on Twitter. If the targeted date for the trailer actually is October 9th, that's roughly 10 weeks before the movie's debut. No one doubts for a second that he loves his fans, but he enjoys teasing now and then.

Digital Spy snagged a screenshot of the tweet before Hamill deleted it. While that could be part of an elaborate troll from the actor, it seems more likely that an executive told him to take it down. Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters on December 15th. The first and only trailer we've received thus far was a teaser trailer released at Star Wars Celebration in April. And that, conveniently enough for Disney, also allows the company to make the event an extra charge, as well.
