Wenger's Chelsea counterpart Antonio Conte refused to make a direct comment about Luiz's sending off but queried how his side had the habit of never ending with a full complement of players against Arsenal.

David Luiz's red card was the third Chelsea have endured in five games this season, but Conte merely described it as "strange" rather than a concern. Every game against Arsenal is always very tough, we knew very well what type of game we had to face.

The Brazilian was given a red card by Michael Oliver for a rash challenge on Sead Kolasinac in the 87th minute of what was an otherwise boring game, but Conte felt that Sanchez had fouled him in the build-up to the tackle.

People forget that we beat Chelsea in the FA Cup Final.

Mesut Ozil wasn't involved in the game due to a minor injury while Alexis Sanchez started on the substitutes bench despite his wonder goal on Thursday against Koln - a decision which drew immediate criticism from the Arsenal contingent on social media.

Thibaut Courtois had to be far more alert in the Chelsea goal, particularly in the first half when Hector Bellerin's pace was unsettling the hosts on the right flank as he combined with Danny Welbeck.
