The announcement was made during last night's Nintendo Direct presentation alongside a bunch of other surprise announcements. We've known about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim since the console's announcement earlier this year, but we also learned yesterday that both of MachineGames' Wolfenstein games will be coming to the platform.

Doom will be the first to arrive on the scene, releasing for Switch sometime before the end of the year. The game will be accompanied by another retro title's modern remake, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. However, they have to download the free update after getting the game.

Wolfenstein II The New Order will hit the PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 27th. Therefore, it could be quite some time between that release and Wolfenstein II's launch on the Switch. Now before you jump to the comments to trash the Switch version, let's remember, this is a portable hybrid console.

"Skyrim was revealed for Switch in June, and will include all-new gameplay features like motion controls for combat and lockpicking, outfits and gear from The Legend of Zelda, plus bonus loot unlocked from compatible The Legend of Zelda amiibo", Bethesda explains.
