Hospital In Lockdown After Reported Shooting

According to a tweet from hospital officials at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, police are now on site.

Police say they are investigating reports of an active shooter at New Hampshire's largest hospital, where some people have been evacuated.

The city's official website posted that a person was in custody who was believed to be involved in the shooting reports.

The Lebanon Police Department in cooperation with mutual aid agencies is investigating a serious incident at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Police in the town of Lebanon confirmed that one suspect was arrested shortly before 3 p.m., 90 minutes after the initial alert.

"Police were looking for a man described as 6'1" tall, with salt and pepper blonde hair, wearing a red camoflage shirt and may be carrying a camoflage backpack as well, according to Dartmouth College in neighboring Hanover. 'If you see this individual, call 911'.

The college said uniformed officers are "sweeping" Dartmouth-Hitchcock facilities "to ensure the buildings are safe on the Lebanon campus".

No further information was immediately available, but the investigation remains ongoing.
