Final: Pittsburgh Steelers defeat Cleveland Browns 21-18

The Steelers had taken a 21-10 lead on Roethlisberger's second TD strike to James in the third quarter. Watt, who added an interception, and Anthony Chickillo, who started for the injured Bud Dupree.

The Browns hung around with the Pittsburgh Steelers on the opening Sunday of the season, and learned that there might just be a bright future ahead with DeShone Kizer.

Of the 75 yards the Steelers gained on their six plays from scrimmage on the drive, 41 came on a pass interference penalty against Browns cornerback Jamar Taylor on a throw intended for Brown.

Bell's obvious early-game rust loomed large in a very un-Steeler-like performance of 43 rushing yards entering the two-minute warning. Three penalties for 35 yards gave the Browns the ball, and momentum, at the 29-yard line.

The Browns cut the deficit to 14-10 on a 24-yard field goal by rookie Zane Gonzalez with 9:27 left in the third quarter. Kizer led the Browns on an eight-play, 73-yard drive that culminated in the first touchdown pass of his career, a three-yarder to Corey Coleman. The offseason saw the departure of long-time defensive stalwart Lawrence Timmons, the addition of first-round pick T.J. Watt and the contract extension of Stephon Tuitt. Will be re-evaluated and more informaiton on Tuesday. Bell didn't get much playmaking help outside of Brown and Jesse James. Tyler Matakavich blocked Britton Colquit's punt. He finished 20 of 30 for 222 yards, but was guilty of holding onto the ball too long and put himself at risk with a few runs. Kizer scored two plays later.
