IPhone 8 will Launch Alongside iPhone 7s and 7s Plus in September

From the looks of it, Apple is going to make record sales once it decides to launch iPhone 8.

The information comes from a certain Ming-Chi Kuo, the analyst of star Apple at KGI Securities, who has published a paper on the subject on August 8, 2017. Apart from wireless charging, the smartphones will also support fast charging.

Despite all three models launching on the same date, it could be awhile before potential customers get their hands on the premium iPhone 8.

Kuo said that shipments of the OLED iPhones are expected to range between 45-50 million units, while shipments of the 4.7-inch LCD iPhones could hit 35-38 million units and shipments of the 5.5-inch LCD iPhones are likely to range between 18-20 million units in 2017.

If Apple does plan on introducing the iPhone in just three hues this year, rose gold or the multiple shades of black that were available in the iPhone 7 will be gone. In addition, Apple also celebrates ten years since Steve Jobs launched the first iPhone 8 and the Cupertino based tech giant needs to commemorate this moment. Delays in the OLED version could have a significant impact on sales figures this year.

MacRumors points out that this news fits with a leak earlier this week that showed off three models of the phone in those colors. Black, Silver, and Gold.

Other rumors have suggested that the additional Type-C power adapter will only be required for the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus.

Kuo previously said the iPhone 8 would be available in a limited number of colors, but made no mention of its two companion devices.

We all kind of know by now (again, thanks to leaks) that the iPhone 8 will have a very advanced facial recognition system integrated within it.

If it can't nail that fingerprint technology under the screen, it may have to turn to the back, the most commonly used place for a fingerprint scanner. However, rumors have been circling for months claiming troubles behind closed doors that could result in Apple postponing the handset's launch. There is still a chance that this iPhone will be called the iPhone X or the Anniversary Edition, as has been hinted to in the past.
