Noel, a 23-year-old, 6-foot-11 power forward/center has stayed pretty quiet since free agency started.

Caldwell-Pope has agreed to a one-year, $18 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is heading west.

Caldwell-Pope is an unrestricted free agent after the Detroit Pistons pulled their qualifying offer to the four-year National Basketball Association veteran last week once it became apparent they no longer had the cap flexibility to match an offer sheet since Detroit has a hard cap for the upcoming season.

Caldwell-Pope was among the top talents remaining on the free agent market after spending his first four National Basketball Association seasons with the Detroit Pistons.

Caldwell-Pope has made significant strides as a lockdown defender in the past few seasons, and he has continued to work on his offensive game.

With the Bradley acquisition, things didn't come down to that and the Pistons gained financial flexibility as well as roster flexibility to play some of their younger players. He is also coming off one of his most productive campaigns where he averaged he averaged 13.8 points on a career-high 35 percent shooting from 3-point range.

The Lakers President of Basketball Operations, Magic Johnson, seems to be highly confident in his new young core and has been actively involved since being hired for the position this year. Jordan Clarkson should go back to his sixth man role with Caldwell-Pope in the fold. It's a risk, as with any gamble, because next year's market looks to be even tighter than this market was, which was already significantly less player-friendly than last year's.
