1 dead, 8 wounded in shooting rampage at gender-reveal party

Police say a 22-year-old IN woman died at the scene of a home invasion near Cincinnati where eight people were wounded, including three children and a pregnant woman who had revealed the gender of her child during a party. One woman was killed.

The shooting happened about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in Colerain Township, a suburb northwest of Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

NBC affiliate WLWT reported eight people were injured and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center is treating five victims.

One victim, a pregnant woman who was not identified, told FOX 19 she was shot in the leg, and suffered a miscarriage. She told WCPO reporter Kristen Swilley that she later lost her baby.

The joint report was obtained by The New York Times and confirmed by security specialists who have been responding to the attacks. Wolf Creek declined to comment on security issues but emphasized that there had been no "operational impact" on its facility.

Police did not say whether the two men were suspects, and were still investigating a motive for the bloodshed.

"He said 'it was just horrific, something that was unimaginable, ' and when he started calling for help, he said ' what am I supposed to say, I've got a lot of people shot". The three other adult victims are in fair condition at the hospital.

"They were all there for a very positive reason when somebody opened fire", Love told FOX 19. There is no word on their condition.

"Hopefully there we can get some information and descriptions, all the information we need to be able to proceed and continue this investigation, hopefully get the people who did the shooting", Love said. Stay with 8News online and on air for the latest updates.
