Pittsburgh Penguins center Nick Bonino had to be shot up with medication just to celebrate with his teammates after the Penguins won the NHL Stanley Cup on Sunday night, according to Sean Gentille of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The home team decided they have nothing to lose in that situation and they left their goal empty, which was a gift for the Penguins, and another Swedish player, Carl Hagelin set the final result at 13.6 seconds until the end of the game.

Carl Hagelin sealed the win by scoring into an empty net with 14 seconds left in leading the Penguins to become the first National Hockey League team in almost two decades to win consecutive championships. This marks the 11th consecutive year that Emrick, Olczyk and McGuire have combined to call the Stanley Cup Final for NBC Sports Group. The win cements his legacy as a three-time Stanley Cup champion and leader of the first repeat champs since the 1997-98 Red Wings.

It was Sidney Crosby, Penguins captain and Conn Smythe Award victor as MVP, who became the first man to hoist the Cup on the Smashville ice.

Miles Teller Busted for Public Drunkenness, Uncooperative With Cops
He was then placed in handcuffs, but he still had trouble standing up straight. TMZ reports he was in jail for four hours before getting released on bail.

Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby was named the playoff MVP. The man-advantage unit went 0-for-8 in the final three games, including 0-for-4 on Sunday. Not a bad way for Matt Murray to finally shed that rookie title. "We lost a lot of guys to injuries". In doing so, the Predators became the first eighth-seeded team to sweep a first-round series since the current playoff format was introduced in 1994. Nashville made the playoffs as the 16th-best team in the regular season before knocking off Chicago, St. Louis and Anaheim.

Both Nashville's Pekka Rinne and the Penguins Murray had been good at times during this series, but never in the same game.

"We've got a collection of guys who understand what it takes to win", Crosby said. Pre-game coverage also featured segments on Fisher and Penguins goalie Matt Murray.
