Tech CEOs to visit White House

President Donald Trump signed an executive order in May to establish the American Technology Council (ATC), which will coordinate how the Federal government should modernize its IT systems and how it delivers digital services.

Technology CEOS are expected at the White House Monday for an event focused on modernizing government.

"It turns out that federal agencies collectively operate 6,100 data centers, the vast majority of which can be consolidated and migrated to the Cloud, something a lot of you know a lot about", Kushner said.

The heads of Silicon Valley's largest companies are gathering at the White House today for the inaugural meeting of the new American Technology Council.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said the administration was focusing on technology this week. Facebook FB.O CEO Mark Zuckerberg was invited but could not attend because of a conflict, the company said.

All of those companies declined comment to CNNMoney about Monday's meeting. Musk quit two of Trump's business advisory councils earlier this month after the president's decision to leave the Paris climate agreement.
