"After discussions with Take-Two Interactive, effective immediately we are ceasing all maintenance, development and distribution of the Force Hax cheat menu services". Two more mods - Lexicon and Menyoo - have both confirmed vie their websites that they have shut down, and are also donating money to charity.

They concluded with "So, we made a decision to agree with their claims and we're stopping distribution of OpenIV".

Take-Two says it was not deliberately targeting single player mods, that instead the latest versions of Open IV enabled malicious mods allowing harassment of players and interfered with the GTA Online experience. We will be donating our proceeds to a charity designated by Take-Two. Since GTA 5 doesn't have any official mod support of its own, OpenIV served as a very handy tool allowing tinkerers to poke around in the game's files and make adjustments or add new things. Unfortunately, the creators behind OpenIV have said they just can't afford the time to try and fight back against the cease and desist order.

Confederation Cup: Ronaldo's Portugal held by Mexico
Chicharito gets support from Carlos Vela and Raul Jiminez on the wings, while Jonathan dos Santos mans the center of the pitch. He attracted headlines last week after being accused by a Spanish prosecutor of defrauding the country's tax authorities.

The reaction is expected as many have been using the modding tool for years now. "GTA V" has been receiving overwhelmingly negative reviews as thousands of players are unable to enjoy the game because they are unable to access the mods necessary for the experience.

GTA Online has faced major problems with cheaters since the mode launched on Windows in 2015. At the time of writing over 39,000 reviews have been submitted recently, with a lot of them being classed as "Overwhelmingly Negative". The community has crashed GTA 5's review score on Stream by leaving tons of negative reviews in protest. In response to the modding purge, fans of OpenIV have taken to Steam, Google, and Change.org to voice their frustration.

Almost all the reviews on Steam cite the same issue, complaining of Take-Two's policies to modding, claiming the tactic to be a part of a cash-grabbing strategy.
