The House intelligence committee said Friday it requested an answer from the White House counsel by June 23.

Later, during a White House Rose Garden press conference with visiting Romanian president Klaus Iohannis, Mr Trump said, "Yesterday showed no collusion, no obstruction".

QUESTION: So, if Robert Mueller wanted to speak with you about that ...

Former FBI Director James Comey will tell Congress on Thursday that President Donald Trump pressed him repeatedly to halt a probe into his ex-national security adviser's ties with Russian Federation and to declare publicly that Trump himself was not under investigation.

Democrats, along with some Republicans, on the committee will use the hearing on Thursday to press for further details of any attempts by Trump to blunt the Russian Federation investigation.

REP. MARK MEADOWS, R-N.C.: I think it was actually a day that vindicated the president, when you have Director Comey three times saying that he wasn't under investigation.

A case in point: He said he never asked Comey for loyalty. "I asked him to because I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel".

Trump says Comey's testimony also vindicated him from allegations that he colluded with Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.

The Kasowitz accusations, made shortly after James Comey completed the public portion of his Senate testimony, if actively pursued, would necessarily shroud the Trump administration in a complex web of investigations, congressional hearings and court proceedings that would ultimately pull it into a black hole of legal destruction.

But Donald Trump refused to say whether his private conversations with the fired FBI Director were taped - an issue at the centre of conflicting accounts of what passed between them.

"So I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter", Comey said.

"And you seem to be hinting that there are recordings of those conversations", Karl said.

There's evidence to open case against Trump: Bharara
While it may not be extraordinary behavior in the corporate world Bharara argued that "the Justice Department is different". Bharara also recounted how he was sacked by Trump after refusing to take an "inappropriate" phone call from the president.

President Trump: private air traffic control
The Federal Aviation Administration spends close to $10 billion per year on air-traffic control, Reuters reported. Some in the Republican Party question the legality a private entity charging "taxes" on airline passengers.

Another asked: "Are there tapes, sir?"

What does the Federal Bureau of Investigation director do when he suspects the president is a manipulative liar? "I'll tell you about it over a very short period of time", the president said".

But while Republicans in general have continued to back the president, some have begun openly questioning and criticizing his actions.

Another reporter yelled: "Why won't you tell us now, Mr. President?"

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: One hundred percent.

"It crossed a boundary that the president should not have crossed".

"Yes, I was on Judiciary Cmte that impeached Clinton/sent him for trial in the Senate for matters less serious than the ones before us now", Inglis tweeted Friday.

Trump said he never asked Comey for his "loyalty" and did not suggest that he halt the FBI's investigation of former White House National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, whom Trump fired on February 13.

"Well, I didn't say that".

"I hardly know the man, I'm not going to say I want you to pledge allegiance".

Under oath Thursday, Comey repeatedly called Trump a liar - Trump responded Friday by saying Comey was a liar.
