In a call to her mother Sunday night from the Lincoln County jail where she is being held, victor said she was in trouble because of "those documents", plural, Golari said.

Winner's lawyer, Titus Nichols, told NPR's Martin Kaste that his client plans to plead not guilty to the one count of "willful retention and transmission of national defense information".

Victor is accused of "removing classified material from a government facility and mailing it to a news outlet", a violation of the Espionage Act, according to a criminal complaint.

She was arrested at her Georgia home on June 3 and charged with removing classified material from a government facility and mailing it to a news outlet.

The charge carries a potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $250,000.

"I know in my heart she would not do anything to jeopardize that", Gary Davis said of Winner's release on bond.

Victor has a hearing scheduled for Thursday at 4 p.m.at the federal courthouse in Augusta.

Gary Davis, Winner's stepfather, said she turned down a full college scholarship in order to join the Air Force.

Winner's mother and stepfather told the judge she had no criminal history and they would use their 20-acre home in Kingsville, Texas, to finance her bond with confidence she would never run.

Sears Closing Additional Stores

President Donald Trump has repeatedly denounced unauthorized disclosures to the media, and now he has his first opportunity to make an example of someone who, according to the Justice Department, admitted to giving a top-secret National Security Agency report to a news organization.

"The document victor allegedly leaked is the same one used as the basis for the article published on Monday by The Intercept, detailing a classified National Security Agency memo". But with no prior history, that can't be said of victor. "Reality Leigh Winner, an NSA linguist trained in Farsi and Pashto, who received an Air Force commendation medal, described by family as a patriot", reported Justice Correspondent Pierre Thomas. She wrote, "I want to burn the White House down". "They recorded jailhouse. phone calls to her mother where she sort of coached her on how to play sympathy in the media".

"Mainly she was concerned about her cat", Winner-Davis said.

The information in the leaked document seems to go further than the US intelligence agencies' January assessment of the hacking that occurred.

Winners works as a private contractor for Pluribus International Corp. The Justice Department announced her arrest Monday as The Intercept reported that it had obtained a classified report suggesting Russian hackers attacked a USA voting software supplier days before last year's presidential election.

Solari said victor also confessed to her mother during a recorded jailhouse phone call, saying: "Mom, those documents".

Solari countered that Winner's political agenda mattered more to her than her oath to protect secrets entrusted to her, adding that she might be tempted to flee if further charges were brought in the continuing investigation.

Actually she used to take the original documents and sell it to the news outlet sites.
