The company also offered a sneak peek at the iMac Pro which is marketed as new "workstation-class product line designed for pro users with the most demanding workflows". This will be an extremely powerful computer, one of the most impressive anywhere in the world.

That's a huge bummer, considering how sleek and much-needed a black option is.

The iMac Pro will be available in December. By way of contrast, HP Inc's Z2 Mini workstation starts at $694, a price that buys you a machine that can't match the Pro for RAM, storage or core count and doesn't include a screen. So it's pretty in line with Apple's stance on part swapping to have gone the more restrictive route with the iMac Pro.

A cheaper MacBook Pro is something that the vast majority of users have been expecting. The most powerful iMac, meanwhile, will ship with an 8GB GPU.

Apple claims that to build a PC of similar specification to the iMac Pro would cost a whopping $7,000. The Radeon Pro 570, meanwhile, offers 28 compute units with 1,792 total stream processors and significantly boosted 217GB/s memory bandwidth for a promised 3.6 T/FLOPS, while the Radeon Pro 575 ups the stakes to 32 compute units for 2,048 stream processors and 4.5 T/FLOPS peak performance.

Having taken 62 balls to reach his fifty, Williamson kicked on and took just another 34 to bring up his ninth ODI hundred. Opting to bat first, the Blackcaps got off to a confident start except for the early dismissal of Martin Guptill .

"With the revolutionary Touch Bar with Touch ID, gorgeous 500-nit Retina display, Thunderbolt 3 and incredible performance in a portable design, MacBook Pro is the best pro notebook Apple has ever made", the tech giant said.

The new 10.5-inch model reduces the bezels by almost 40 percent and has a redesigned Retina display that's 20 percent larger than the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

There's an Apple A8 chip inside the HomePod to handle all the audio processing and privacy protection that Siri is vaunted for.

Apple's biggest push with the iMac Pro, though, came by detailing what it can do.

The $1,299 21.5-inch iMac also comes with Retina 4K display and discrete graphics. iMac will receive the new macOS High Sierra, which will be available this fall. The new display is touted as being 43 percent brighter with one billion colors. RAM will range from 32GB to 128GB. The basic MacBook is also in line for a faster SSD, Apple says, while the long-neglected MacBook Air will be getting a processor upgrade to an as-yet-unspecified Intel model. Ternus added that the SSD storage options are now up to 50 percent faster, and iMac comes with Thunderbolt 3. Apple is pitching this machine for real-time 3D rendering and 4K video effects, immersive VR at high frame rates, machine learning development, and faster code compiling. Its new design is said to deliver up to 80 per cent more cooling capacity than the iMac, without sacrificing the thin design.
