USA pop singer Ariana Grande headlined a star-studded benefit concert in Manchester on Sunday that was both joyful and mournful, in aid of victims of the bombing that rocked the city last month, as security fears ran high after attackers in London killed seven people.

Yesterday, "One Love Manchester" was held at the English city's Old Trafford Cricket Ground as a benefit for the British Red Cross; the star-studded gig focused less on soliciting donations than celebrating the lives of those who were killed in last month's terrible terror attack.

"And this is so attractive, you guys made that decision, you looked fear right in the face and you said "no we are Manchester and the world is watching".

The concert is titled 'One Love Manchester, ' which shall feature Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Niall Horan and Pharrell Williams in addition to Ariana Grande herself.

Singer-actress Miley Cyrus' performance was all about her friendship with Grande, who noted the "Bang Bang" hitmaker's strength as a role model.

"I don't feel or smell or hear or see any fear in this building".

The group joined up with Ariana to sing a moving rendition of 'Where is the love?' but the front man's apparent monumental cock up, was what really seemed to get people talking.

Before Grande's appearance, the star's manager Scooter Braun told the crowd: "Last night, this nation was challenged and all of you were challenged and you had a decision to make if you were going to come out here tonight".

Grande performed throughout the show, singing her hits from "Side to Side" to "Break Free".

The concert will be broadcast on a variety of outlets.
