The 28-year-old Rahal, son of racing legend Bobby Rahal, led 55 out of 70 laps to win the first Dual in Detroit at the Grand Prix on Belle Isle Saturday afternoon.

"I can't imagine the feeling of going to each and every race weekend and knowing that all I got to do is beat my teammate and I'm going to win", said Rahal.

"I never felt that confident in my career", Rahal said after his fifth career victory and fourth in two-plus years.

Rahal went on to say dragsters, with all their nitro power, are like "a bomb waiting to go off". "In race-car driving, some drivers' careers, some tracks are really, really suitable".

"It's extremely important to come out of the truck with the vehicle well set up". But, yes, we were firing on all cylinders today.

With his win at the first race of the Dual in Detroit doubleheader, Graham Rahal becomes the seventh different victor in as many IndyCar races this season.

Hinchcliffe, was similarly dismissive of Hamilton's comments, noting: "It's amusing hearing criticism about the depth of our field from someone who has to race three other cars, when we have seven winners in the first seven races". I think I was favoring a lot of things, but just so proud of the whole Camping World crew.
