Police dealing with an 'incident' on London Bridge

British PM May says that the incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism.

Reuters reported a witness saying she had seen people with "apparent knife wounds" on London Bridge.

Another man, was also reported to be an attacker, was pictured on the ground a short distance away.

Police initially said a third incident was reported in Vauxhall, but later said it was an unrelated stabbing.

Metropolitan Police have confirmed that they are dealing with three incidents tonight, and the situation has been described as ongoing.

The BBC showed a photograph of two possible London attackers shot by police, one of whom had canisters strapped to his body.

A number of people are feared dead and scores injured after a van was driven into pedestrians in London and a group of men starting stabbing bystanders.

Senator Dastyari and the other diners were locked up in a small room upstairs for about 40 minutes before being evacuated.

Prime Minister Theresa May confirmed the attack "is being treated as a potential act of terrorism" and said her thoughts were with "those who are caught up in these awful events".

"Officers are now responding to an incident in the #Vauxhall area".

With explosions being heard after 1 a.m. Sunday, London time, media reports indicated that at least some of the suspects were possibly still at large. "My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones", tweeted French President Emmanuel Macron. "Thank you to the emergency services".

May's office said she would chair a meeting of the government's COBRA emergency committee on Sunday.

Prime Minister Theresa May said the attacks were suspected terrorism, and President Donald Trump vowed to provide the United Kingdom any assistance needed.

The attacks come days ahead of a June 8 election and less than two weeks after a suicide bomber killed 22 people at a pop concert by United States singer Ariana Grande in Manchester in northern England.

British Police said more than one person had been killed at London Bridge on Saturday, the BBC reported. He said he saw someone jump into the water to avoid being hit. She said she saw at least four or five people on the ground.

Around 10 p.m., officers closed London Bridge after a white van mounted the sidewalk and hit pedestrians, per bystanders' accounts.

"This is a fast moving investigation".

"I saw this van going left and right, left and right, trying to catch as many people as he could". The patrons sheltered in the basement and police have arrived at the scene, the witness said. "It's confronting. The sheer sense and wave of panic that runs through people", he told the Nine Network.

Also on Saturday, a man with a "massive knife" entered a restaurant at Borough Market, just south of the bridge, and stabbed two people inside, a witness told CNN on Saturday.

"We saw injured people on the road, injured people on the pavement", witness Will Heaven told Sky News.

Simon Thompson told Sky News that he was just outside Borough Market when he saw crowds fleeing.
