CBS announced Tuesday that it's moving the veteran anchor to a full-time role on "60 Minutes", where he's contributed as a correspondent since 2004.

CBS News, with its influence diminished at the turn of the decade, sought to mold its newscasts in the meatier image of "60 Minutes".

Glor opened the broadcast by saying "Good evening, Scott's on assignment for "60 Minutes". "So has his dedication to consequential reporting", said Jeff Fager, Executive Producer of 60 Minutes. The report says that Pelley will remain as a correspondent for 60 Minutes.

Pelley took over at the anchor desk in 2011 after the expensive and failed tenure of Katie Couric as anchor and managing editor.

"CBS has been great to me for almost 30 years", Pelley said in a statement.

The outlet reports that Pelley will be shifted full-time to 60 Minutes.

The Serbian is bidding to become the first man to have won each of the four Grand Slams at least twice in the Open Era. That's what brings me confidence. "Pretty huge disappointment, especially on a surface I really enjoy playing".

The move apparently came because there's friction between Pelley and CBS News president David Rhodes. A vendetta was born, and there was a certain unmistakable glee reflected in "Page Six's" scoop, which noted that Pelley's belongings had been moved out of his office in the so-called "Fishbowl" at West 57th Street headquarters while he was away on assignment. It's not the correct way to treat the face of CBS news, ' a source told the gossip column.

CBS has yet to make an official announcement, but Pelley's exit has been widely reported in the media.

Although Pelley has built on the audience he inherited from Couric, his broadcast has lagged behind "NBC Nightly News With Lester Holt" and "ABC World News Tonight With David Muir" in the ratings throughout its run.
