Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9pm for all of western MA

Stay informed and be ready to act if a severe thunderstorm warning is issued.

Environment Canada has issued another thunderstorm watch for the Okanagan. "There are a few isolated storms that could produce some strong winds or some hail".

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center says Western Massachusetts and portions of Central Massachusetts are at risk of strong to severe thunderstorms. A few thunderstorms could produce damaging outflow winds Thursday afternoon over 60 miles per hour and heavy rain, small hail and frequent lightning. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

The severe thunderstorm watch says atmospheric conditions are ripe for the development of unsafe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, damaging hail, lightning strikes and torrential rain.
