I'll be back: Arnold Schwarzenegger confirms role in latest Terminator film

Speaking to ScreenDaily while at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday, Schwarzenegger revealed he has signed on to star in the sixth instalment of the blockbuster franchise.

Arnie is now at the Cannes film festival where he is promoting his new environmental documentary Wonders Of The Sea 3D and speaking to Screen magazine he said of the newest Terminator film: "It is back. I will be in the movie", he confirmed.

According to reports, "Terminator Genisys" financier David Ellison was backing a new film and respected sci-fi authors had been asked to come up with plot ideas.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger says he'll be back, he means it.

Cameron will of course be too occupied by his four Avatar sequels to take on the reins of the next Terminator film himself. Then again, everyone needs a paycheck every once in awhile. "It's a very divisive period now and I think this show got caught up in all that division", Schwarzenegger had said. Hopefully Cameron will be hands-on enough to help guide the Terminator franchise to an exciting new place, but for now, I'm not necessarily interested.

So it sounds like we're getting more Terminator movies. That follows the even more exciting news that James Cameron is also returning, after regaining the rights to his own franchise.
