ABC has picked up an eight-episode revival of "Roseanne", the network said Tuesday as part of its upfront presentation to advertisers in NY. ABC's eight-episode reboot will feature numerous original cast members, including Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, and Laurie Metcalf.

Roseanne Barr and John Goodman are officially re-teaming for a new season of sitcom Roseanne. The revival will be executive produced by Barr, Tom Werner and Bruce Helford (all returning from the original run). Both Chalke and Goranson will be on the show, but Chalke will be playing a different character than the eldest daughter Becky. Deadline says Goranson will play Becky, while Chalke "will also appear in another role" (note Chalke made a cameo during the show's 1995 Halloween episode, after Goranson had rejoined the cast).

The other big news is that Roseanne's husband Dan is still alive.

The sitcom centered around the Conner family, led by matriarch Roseanne, and their working class life in the fictional town of Lanford, Illinois. We can expect to see the Conner's continue to struggle with the challenges of living pay check to pay check in 2018. The award-winning show saw Roseanne Barr assume the lead role as her working-class family, the Conners, went about their day-to-day lives in IL.

Roseanne ran for nine seasons on ABC from 1988 to 1997, and was America's most-watched show from 1989 to 1990.

Roseanne will be ABC's sole multi-camera comedy next season, following the cancellations of Tim Allen's Last Man Standing and Dr. Ken.
