Xiaomi Redmi 4, Mi Router 3C unveiled in India

After launching the Redmi 4 in China in November previous year, Xiaomi launched the phone in India on Tuesday. Redmi 4 comes in three different variants i.e, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage is priced at Rs 6,999.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi on 16 May launched its Budget smartphone Redmi 4 in India.

Both the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime bear identical metal unibody designs, 2.5D curved glass displays, hybrid dual-SIM slots, and a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, but have some major differences in specifications such as display resolution, memory, processor, and inbuilt storage. The Redmi 4 runs on Android Marshmallow and the GUI is based on MIUI 8. The new smartphone will be available in three variants, priced at Rs 6,999, Rs 8,999 and Rs 10,999.

For photography, this phone is mounted with 13 MP rear camera with Dual LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, 5-lens system, PDAF. On the front is a 5MP camera with f2.2 aperture for use in low light and a smart plus pro beauty mode.

In this event, the company has also introduced its 3rd Mi ecosystem device, Mi Router 3C.

Now Xiaomi Redmi 4 is just another variant of Redmi 4X which was launched in China in February. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Global Positioning System. "We want to bring these five (Mi Homes) to scale, ensure they are profitable before we add more", Xiaomi India head Manu Jain said.

Redmi 4 is powered by 4100mAh (typ) battery that can power through up to two days of regular usage. It also capable of connecting 64 devices with top download speed up to 300mbps.

In terms of connectivity, Redmi 4 will come with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, Infrared port, FM Radio, microUSB 2.0, and 3.5-mm headphone jack as connectivity options.

Xiaomi also announced new Mi Home locations that are coming soon to India, with new stores coming in Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai and made a promise to customers to keep the stores always in stock, in case if a product is not available in the store, Xiaomi will issue you a code for the product that can be redeemed online at Mi.com.
