After Friday's four-hour spacewalk was complete, and the astronauts were re-entering the airlock to re-pressurize to the 14.7 psi inside the space station, Fischer addressed the end of the 200 spacewalk and how far the space station has come and all the astronauts and support personnel down on Earth over the years.

Despite the initial trouble, it was a milestone moment as Peggy Whitson and Jack Fischer floated outside on the station's 200th spacewalk.

Current world record for the largest number of spacewalks is held by Russian astronaut Anatoly Solovyev, who has been on 16 spacewalks and spent more than 82 hours outside in space.

Mission Control said Fischer's suit is fine.

This will be the 200th spacewalk for the construction and maintenance of the orbiting outpost.

Fischer ended up sharing Whitson's spacesuit servicing system, which caused both to burn through their spacesuits' battery power faster than usual.

During their time outside the station, Whitson and Fischer will replace an avionics box situated on the station's starboard 3 truss.

During earlier preparations, a small amount of water leaked from the connection point between an umbilical hose and Fischer's suit. He also writes a blog, called Orbital Velocity, about the space station. Peggy Whitson successfully completed her 9 spacewalk, the most of any female astronaut. With coverage starting at 6.30 a.m. The tank ran out of fuel after three minutes, and White had to pull himself back to the capsule by his tether.

NASA has experienced a series of problems with water leaking inside the astronauts' helmets, most notably in 2013 when water began filling Italian Luca Parmitano's headpiece, forcing him to cut short his spacewalk and make an emergency re-entry into the space lab. NASA is especially wary of leaks involving spacesuits.

The very first spacewalk at the ISS took place on December 7, 1998.

"Oh my gosh, this is attractive", Fischer said as he stepped out into space for the first time, saying his view is like "an enormous fondu pot bubbling over with piping hot awesome-sauce".
