"But just by glancing up there right now I think we're in pretty good shape".

All of that made the drafting of Williams, at a position where the team has depth, a bit of a head-scratcher.

Williams bounced back in a big way from a season-ending injury in the 2015 opener, finishing his career as one of Clemson's most decorated wide receivers in history.

Expect to see the Chargers' offense take a big step forward this season with Williams on the field.

Williams was at the top of many analysts receiver rankings- viewed by many as a player that could be drafted somewhere and be the team's lead receiver.

Rivers will now have a complete arsenal of weapons on the offensive side of the ball with Williams, Keenan Allen, Travis Benjamin, Tyrell Williams and Dontrelle Inman competing for snaps on the outside.

The C's shot 46.3 percent from the floor, 30.3 percent from behind the arc and a dismal 57.9 percent from the free throw line. But Bradley said while the team continues to grieve for him, it can't be a distraction when they are on the court.

He draws comparisons to Alshon Jeffery and Plaxico Burress, receivers who don't consistently create separation but can win downfield with 50/50 jump balls or over-the-shoulder catches. If not, who do you think they should have drafted? "He was the number one receiver on my board".

In the past, Chargers general manager Tom Telesco has been active in the second round.

A strong defense isn't made up of one star player from the first round- it is 11 good players who work well as a team and with many picks still to come in the 2017 National Football League draft, the Chargers have a chance to draft some solid players to work with Joey Bosa.

Not many had Williams going to the Chargers, especially when you consider the problems they had in the secondary last season, but apparently the Clemson wideout's "secret workout" with Los Angeles last week convinced the organization that Williams was worth taking at seventh overall.

"Oh, it's real exciting", Williams said".
